If multiple people fall into the same category, please consult the Shul.
Can I make a bris at the Shul during the week?
The downstairs space may be available for a seudas mitzvah after a weekday bris when the sponsor is a member or frequent congregant with no outstanding pledges, and the event does not create additional cost for the Shul.
The Shul recommends making the bris upstairs immediately after the second minyan. Monday through Thursday, the second Shacharis is at 8:15, so a bris would generally be at 9:00. Sunday, the second Shacharis is at 9:15, so a bris would generally be at 10:00.
Please contact the Shul before making arrangements.
Can I make an event at the Shul?
The Shul is not for rent. No events may be held upstairs with food, with speakers or electronic sound systems, or during regularly scheduled Shul activities.
The downstairs social hall may be available for smaller weekday community events when the event is for the community, the sponsor is a member or frequent congregant with no outstanding pledges or balances, North Rockland Safety Patrol is consulted, and there is no additional cost to the Shul.
For Shabbos simchas, the downstairs social hall may be available when the sponsor is a member with no outstanding pledges or balances, there is no additional cost to the Shul, and the sponsor sponsors all Shabbos activities.
The downstairs social hall is not available during the week for formal simchas, family gatherings, or fundraisers that attract a large crowd from outside the community, including dinners, birthday parties, upsherins, bas mitzvahs, bar mitzvahs, engagement parties, weddings, and sheva brachos.
Please contact the Shul before planning an event.
